The photos posted on each of these sites are the exact same ad photos of the home from our original stay back in 2011. A reputable homeowner, I believe, would update photos.
If you want to spend your vacation time cleaning the kitchen, bath, floors, and doing laundry this is the place for you.
Please, someone figure out a way to stop this person from renting this house to unsuspecting visitors!

The 1.5 stars should be some indication of this homes disaster status.

We recently stayed at this home and I can say it was extremely disappointing! I originally found the property on airbnb, which did not disclose the address and the reviews weren't terrible. A month before our trip Airbnb refunded the money and cancelled our reservation, no reason was reported. I contacted Elina and she was so happy I contacted her and reported she decided to stop listing through Airbnb but would honor our reservation. I was then instructed to download a cash app to send her payment. It was then that I asked for the address to the home and we found the reviews. I contacted Elina and confronted her about the recent reviews and she assured me that there was some cosmetic damage to the home but that it would be clean and not to worry. She also reported that there were going to be professional pictures taken of the home the day we were to arrive and we could check in after 11 am. We got to the home and found it to be VERY dirty! Carpet stained with spills and urine, floors not swept or vacuumed. Clothing hanging in laundry room, dirty clothing not washed in the washer, luggage in the master bathroom, food in the fridge, coffee cup in the microwave, old mattresses and furniture shoved in various places around the property. The master toilet leaks. The stove burner (one of two) does not light. The list goes on and on. The first night a lady came to the home (presumably the housekeeper who apparently lives in the home when it isn't rented) She reported she thought we were arriving the next day and she needed to collect some of her things. She came in the home and gathered her things, sort of sneaking around. She reported she didn't get a SECOND cleaning of the floors. There wasn't a first cleaning in my opinion. This rental is a SCAM, it was $1900 for 5 nights. The home is disgusting. First off there were absolutely no "professional pictures" being taken prior to our arrival. The owner Elina was just making sure that we didn't arrive before her housekeeper had time to get out I figure. Obviously the communication wasn't provided to the lady who must live and "clean" the home because of how things played out. The owner bold face lied to me stating the home would be clean and that there was going to be professional pictures taken. I contacted the owner after we returned home and notified her of the condition of the home, assuming she was unaware as she lives in Portland. I sent pictures of the filth. She did apologize as far as the housekeeper not knowing when we were arriving although no other acknowledgement of the condition of the home or filth was made by the owner. This stay was in May 2018. I can not believe that the owner gets away with this. We made the best of our time but will NEVER return to anything this woman owns EVER!!! I believe we deserved a refund. Of course she wouldn't offer that.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed in September to deplorable conditions and are preparing a letter with pictures that will go to the health department and fire department as well as any rental agencies we can think of. Do you have any suggestions for copies to go to?
