Somehow she has been able to dupe the BBB and currently has a rating of "A." This is because she has all her words meticulously placed, a "contract" with tidy fine print, and renters who fail to follow through.

The "so-called" cleaning crew, if it exists, does not clean. The pictures tell the story. Read the blog. Do your homework. DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE.

The photos posted on each of these sites are the exact same ad photos of the home from our original stay back in 2011. A reputable homeowner, I believe, would update photos.

If you want to spend your vacation time cleaning the kitchen, bath, floors, and doing laundry this is the place for you.

Please, someone figure out a way to stop this person from renting this house to unsuspecting visitors!

The owner name listed on Flipkey and AirBnB is Chanda Z.

The 1.5 stars should be some indication of this homes disaster status.

Still says "Roads End" and has photos from prior to March 2011 when we stayed here. Over 90% of the furniture in these photos was broken and damaged seven years ago.

Once again, I find that comments pop up from time to time insisting that this vacation rental is STILL a problem in Lincoln City, and may be far worse than before.

No, I do not have a listed way for you all to contact me. I have received threats in the past for maintaining this blog. Also, out of sight out of mind at times. Certain times of the year, or a trip to the coast, brings the blog to mind. So here I am again.

New Name, New Game?

In the hopes that the rental property was no longer in service there have been no updates to this blog in some time. However, several comments lead us to believe that there is still a problem with the property located on SW Jetty in Lincoln City.

Does anyone have current pictures? An updated listing for this property? Or know what name is being used at this time?

We would be happy to update this blog in order to help more unsuspecting vacationers avoid the nasty home we encountered.

ROADS END Scam Continues

As of March 2014, people are still renting and being disappointed and disgusted by the use of this property. We have done all we can with the information we have. If you or anyone you know has rented this property in the last six months, please feel free to respond in the comments section or contact the administrator with your story or pictures. We would be happy to update the blog and keep the reviews current.

UPDATE: THIS IS the property listed on craigslist as special 75% off, it is a 3000 sq foot house, sleeps 14, with a hot tub. Please do not confuse this with another property that also uses the ROADS END name. As far as we know the other listing is an honorable vacation home. The offending property uses the title:

By Any Other Name...

Roads End, Chablis Sands, I Dream of Jetty, or by any other name this is anything but a rose, and the deal still STINKS!

The following ad is now on craigslist:

She is still using the old photos from pre-2011, which would seem to indicate that the scam continues. 

We strongly suggest you rethink renting this property. If you look closely you can see that the furniture pictured on the website is the same furniture and items noted as destroyed back in March of 2011. 

Roads End Vacation Rental

The Lincoln City vacation home Roads End, located at 5220 NW Jetty Ave, Lincoln City, OR 97367 is still up and running. The owners have changed the name for a third time in two years--and continue to rent to unsuspecting vacationers.

The most recent Better Business Bureau was resolved on November 15, 2012. Of course the complaint is found under the former name of Chablis Sands.

One might assume that the owner has learned their lesson and cleaned up their act as one might say. However, when you check out the website Oregoncoastview.com and compare the pictures with the pictures in our March 2011 photos, you will notice that the futon in the first picture is the same one that is shown damaged as of March of 2011. The rug is the same dirty and stained rug from 2011. The pictured dining room table had already been destroyed and removed by March of 2011. The chaise was in a sad state as of March of 2011 as well.

Even if the furniture mentioned above could have been cleaned, it is unlikely that the damage to the futon structure could be fixed, nor could the mechanisms in the reclining couches be repaired to an acceptable standard.

At the very least the owner is still using deceptive photographs to sell the rental.

Be sensible! Find a reputable rental agency in Lincoln City and enjoy your break without the hassle and nuisance of this establishment.

REVIEW: I Dream of Jetty: Bedrooms and Such

The house has lots of beds. There is a king size bed in the master, as well as a queen size mattress on the floor next to it. There is another bed in the closet of the master bedroom. Down the hall there are three more rooms with full or queen beds on the lowest level. In the "spa" room you find a broken futon and a loveseat. On the main floor there is another futon, a chaise, and another bedroom with a full/queen. On the top floor there is another futon. and a large couch with recliners.

We found a broken light fixture on the way to the third floor. The glass is still on the floor. Might have cleaned it up, but the vacuum didn't not work properly.


The closets have blankets and pillows.

 The laundry room is on the lowest level. This is a picture of the room after we started the first couple loads of laundry.

There's nothing like a long soak in a fabulous hot tub. And there's nothing that compares to finding that the same advertised hot tub is cold, swarming in green gunge and an arm's length away from the neighbor sitting on his back porch smoking a ciggy.
